When using our services, you the hirer, cardholder, renter, driver, user acknowledges and accepts the below terms and conditions and those that are on the rental agreement and on the check/handover sheet as if they were set out in full. Should you disagree, or are unable to comply with our terms and conditions, please do not proceed with our services or use of our website. It is your responsibility to ensure you read and understand our terms and conditions before entering a booking contract and before signing the rental agreement etc.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT, PERSONAL EFFECT, GOODS IN TRANSIT & INJURY INSURANCES
These are not covered by company ‘Abbey Caravans and Leisure LTD’ or the vehicle’s insurance. The hirer and any approved drivers and passengers must take out their own cover. Failure to do so is at your (renter/hirer/driver’s) own risk. Abbey Caravans And Leisure LTD will not be held liable for this or any charges/losses etc. rising from this
THE INSURANCE POLICY
The policy of insurance is available for inspection on request. Fully comprehensive insurance can be provided for drivers aged between 25 and 75 years of age, who have held a full licence for a minimum of 2 years. All drivers must have no more than 2 sets of 3 points on their licence. No more than one fault or outstanding accident/claim/incident in the last 3 years. Our insurance covers, NI driving licence, UK and EU drivers.
A security deposit of £1000 will be held pending on your credit card up to 14 days after hire has finished. This covers insurance excess and damage deposit. Drivers aged between 25-75. Current driving licence must be held for at least 2 years, with no more than 6 points. Should the vehicle be involved in an incident or accident, we must be informed within 12 hours of the incident/accident taking place, on the number you receive on the day of collection.
IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED
If you live in the UK with a UK or EU Driving Licence. All drivers must be present at the time of collection with the following identification.
*Full UK or EU driving licence – UK OR NI Licence Must Have Photo Card and Paper Part UK Licence must have an online Licence check done
* EU driving licences must be accompanied with their valid passport
* Valid debit or credit card
Two of the following Primary proofs of address:
* Utility bill – landline telephone, gas, electric, water
* Bank statement
* TV Licence
* Credit card statement/bill
* Council tax invoice for the current year
* Mortgage Statement
* Polling Card
Secondary proof of address accepted with 1x of the above Primary proofs of address:
* student loan
* shotgun licence
* payslip
* mobile phone bills
* pension letters
* car finance statement
* loan statement
* property deed
Both of the above proofs of address must be dated within 3 months (90 Days) of the date of collection, showing the driver’s name and current address. THE ADDRESS AND NAME ON YOUR LICENCE MUST MATCH YOUR DOCUMENTS.
Any document relating to insurance will not be accepted as a proof of address nor will any document that does not meet our mentioned criteria. Please contact us if you are unsure
- Main drivers debit or credit card to pay the security deposit (insurance excess) All named drivers must be present at the time of collection. 1 driver included with rental a £50 charge will be made for every driver added on to the rental.
PETS: Pets are welcome in selected campers only as long as you have notified us at the time of booking. There is an additional £50 cleaning fee. No pets are allowed in our vehicles unless agreed with us first. The camper should still be returned in the condition it was received. On return of the vehicle, please ensure that all pet hair is completely removed and the vehicle is clean and tidy Failure to comply with this requirement will result in loss of some or all of the Security Deposit for cleanup or damage. Any damage/stains/scratches caused by your pet/animal will not be covered under our vehicle’s insurance and you will be charged for the full cost of repairs and any losses incurred.
The fuel level is returned at the same level as when the vehicle was collected. All of our campers are DIESEL and leave with a full tank of fuel. The refuelling penalty is the cost of refuelling on the day plus a £25 fee.
To ensure there are no discrepancies on fuel, damage, broken and missing items/accessories and cleanliness etc, on collection of the vehicle it will be ‘checked out’ with a member of staff and the main driver only. A Handover/check sheet will also be completed.
It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure all damage to the vehicle, missing, broken items and cleanliness etc are noted on both copies of the handover/check sheet (hirers and ‘company’s copies) at the time of ‘check out. We will not accept any discrepancies for any damage, missing, broken items found once you have left the depot. On return, any damage to the motor home inside and outside, missing, broken items/accessories etc that were not noted on both copies of the Handover/Check sheet at the time of collection will be charged to the hirer/driver/renter.
The toilet cassette must be empty and cleaned for return if not there will be a £75 cleaning penalty.
Grey/Wastewater tanks must be empty and cleaned out on return if not there will be a £75 cleaning penalty
Please return the camper at the specified time on your rental agreement on the day of return unless otherwise arranged. A late return penalty of £100 per hour will be deducted from your security deposit unless we are advised of delays by phone.
Our vehicles are booked out within hours of your return time, so you must ensure you are back on time and allow extra time for any holds up’s, traffic etc and for unloading the vehicle, cleaning etc. We require a certain amount of time to get the vehicle checked in, inspected, cleaned (if you haven’t cleaned it to our standard) etc. ready for its next rental, you cannot be late.
Please be aware if travelling through motorway tolls that you pay the fee as any fines or charges will be passed on to you the customer. Same for driving offences. Whilst travel into the Republic of Ireland is allowed You must ensure you pay any tolls you go through, within the specified time (please check individual tolls for deadlines) so as not to incur any extra penalties. Should we be notified by the toll company of any outstanding charges/penalties, after the hire has ended these will be passed onto you
Campers come equipped with all the equipment you need to enjoy camping. Should any of these items not be returned or are damaged at end of hire a charge for these items will be made. Please check the inventory when you collect the vehicle.
Vehicle keys. You will be provided with 1 set of keys for the duration of your hire if the key is lost or damaged during your hire then there will be a replacement charge of £300. All keys must be kept in a safe and secure place at all times and not left in open view or left in the ignition of the vehicle. It is the drivers/renters/hirers responsibility to look after the keys and keep them safe.
Vehicles MUST NOT be driven on any beaches or off-road.
Cooking, living and bathroom/toilet areas are left as clean as when you received the vehicle, rubbish must be disposed of and a basic clean. If not a valet charge of £75 will be deducted from your security deposit.
all customers MUST use the mattress protectors we have provided, for the beds/converted beds.
These vehicles are for leisure use and not for use as the transport for goods or large items any damage that occurred as a result of this will mean a loss of some or all of the security deposit.
Cancellation or change by the hirer in the event of a cancellation by the hirer the following charges shall be incurred:
• If you cancel 15 days + prior to pick up: Loss of deposit
• If you cancel 14 days or less prior to pick:100 % loss
There is no mileage limit for travelling within the UK and Ireland. **Due to the current situation withCOVID19, travel to Europe (Excluding Republic of Ireland) is not permitted*
SMOKING: No smoking is allowed in the Vehicle. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in loss of Security Deposit plus cost of cleanup.
TOWING: Towing the vehicle is not allowed or permitted to tow any other vehicle or trailer.
Toilet Door Compartment: Please make sure that the Toilet door is locked at all times if the Toilet Cassette is lost, damaged or stolen there will be a charge of £175.00.
